1935 Establishment Gebben bicycleshop
'De Driekleur'
The Roots of Emile Gebben BV are in Staphorst, a small town in the North-East of Holland.
In 1936 Mr H. Gebben established a small bicycle shop with only 2 employees. What started out as a small shop, grew within several years to the biggest, and best known shop in Holland. The company grew from 800m2 to 2600m2 within only 6 years.

Years 64 until 1980
In 1964 young mister Andre Gebben came to join his father in the shop. He was responsible for an explosive growthprocess of the company, by adding motorcycles to the assortment. He specialized himself in the sale of motocrossbikes, and soon became one of the leading motocross dealers in the Benelux.
Mr Andre Gebben himself was also a very good motocross rider, he was 19 times Dutch champion, and raced in Holland, Great-Britain and America. He even had the world record sprint, at one time. From the experience the family had in motorcross, they where able to develop a new motocross bike themselves, they called it the "Gebben-Kreidler" this was a 50cc motocross bike, which was able to compete with its bigger brothers of the 100cc, and therefore was very successfull on the Dutch tracks.

Years 1980 until 1990
In 1980 the company expanded their horizon again by adding road bikes to the assortment, and started, on a large scale, importing used motorcycles from America. The company also won several prizes by being the best selling dealer of the country for the following brands: Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Triumph, BMW and Moto Guzzi. With 27 employees, and a efficient working organisation the company became a standerd in the Dutch market.

1990 until 2000
In 1990 Mr Andre Gebben sold his company to a large nation-wide operation concern. He continued working for this company for five years. As a member of the board of directors he was responsible in this company for the buying and distribution of the motorcycles over the 10 large shops they owned by then.
In 1996 he could not resist to start up again himself, on a smaller scale, by just supplying used motorcycles to the trade.

In 1997 his son Emile Gebben joined him in the company after finishing an international study BBA in America. Together they have build an organisation, which tries to serve its customers best by giving them an intensive service and high quality motorcycles. The latest development in the company is the im/export of new motorcycles, which has given the turnover of the company a very big boast in the last few years. This required Emile and his brother-in-law Daan Boogaerdt to focus on the sale of new motorcycles completely. They now have several years of experience in this aspect and are also trying to serve their customers by being discrete, efficient and giving them all the service and assistance they need.

In 2007 Daan left the company so now Andre and Emile are running the company together. Since januari 2009 our company name has changed into Motorcycle Distribution B.V.
